VINCENT ENYEAMA Predicts Difficult Game Against Liberia
Published: October 12, 2012
Maccabi Tel Aviv custodian Vincent Enyeama has dismissed suggestions that his lack of regular playing time at French club Lille negatively affected his form in the National Team.
Schoolboy - type errors made by Enyeama against Malawi and Liberia cost Nigeria victories in those games, and a section of the fans and media want a reversal of his role in the team.
Interviewed by Brila FM Players' Scorecard on Friday morning, Enyeama disclosed: ''I really don't want to talk about that now (my form, ed) .Because everybody is entitled to his own opinion. I guess the same thing is happening to Iker Casillas, he is in Real Madrid for a long time or maybe Peter Cech is in Chelsea for a very long while.
''I don't want to talk about (the away game against, ed)Liberia and Malawi. I am looking beyond that game and what is on the table now.''
Against Liberia on Saturday, in the absence of Fenerbahçe center back Joseph Yobo, it is a foregone conclusion that Eagles gaffer Stephen Keshi will hand over the skipper's armband to Enyeama.
The former Enyimba hero predicts a hard game between the two West African brothers, but has tipped the Eagles to overrun the Lone Stars.
He told the radio station: ''It is going to be a difficult one and hard game but with the help and strength of God we will march, go through to the Nations Cup. We don't know how it is going to happen but we believe in God.''
