Mixed Feelings Trail ADEPOJU's Exit From 3SC
Published: October 08, 2012
The unceremonious exit of Shooting Stars’ Club Manager Mutiu Adepoju has generated reactions from some sections of the fans while others are celebrating the development as a good omen for the club.
The former Super Eagles midfielder, who joined the the club in 2009, contract expired September 30th 2012, but felt slighted by the attitude of the board according to a source close to the Headmaster as he’s fondly called during his days with Eagles who asked him to reapply for the position.
When the Chairman of the club, Toyin Akintunde was contacted, he said Adepoju had never made his intention known to the board officially after the expiration of his contract with which ended last month, saying it was only on the pages of newspapers they are reading about his resignation.
Adepoju according to his close source felt bad with the management’s choice of telling him to reapply for the renewal of his contract maintaining that he had gave his all in ensuring that the club succeed.
Meanwhile, majority of the fans who were discussing the issue at the Lekan Salami Stadium, the training ground of the club celebrated Adepoju’s exit as a welcome development and a good omen for 3SC.
In their opinion which they expressed to the sporting press this morning at 3Sc’s training ground, “Mutiu’s role as a club Manager in the club cannot be defined and is conflicting which is part of problems affecting the progress the of Shooting Stars”, said by one the supporters who pleaded for anonymity.
He added that “We all know that Ajibade Babalade is 3SC’s Team Manager and Adepoju with his UEFA coaching certificate has never succeeded as a technical person in-charge of the team which always forced the management to employ Coaches while government has constituted a board to direct the administrative affairs of the club which gives no room for duties such as a
club manager that he occupied”.
