Ismaily To Appeal Fifa's Verdict On JOHN OWOERI
Published: September 10, 2012
Egyptian club Ismaily have released a statement on the official website Ismailyonline.com disclosing that they will pursue further the case involving the former Nigeria youth - teamer John Owoeri.
Owoeri went AWOL at Ismaily, and refused to return the club for close to a season. The 25 - year -old was linked with a plethora of teams in the United States - Columbus Crew, Montreal Impact, Kansas City and Chivas USA - but talks collapsed after the Nigerian failed to produce his International Transfer Certificate.
Football's governing body Fifa had ruled in favour of John Owoeri last March, giving him the right to terminate his contract with The Yellow Dragons over unpaid entitlements of about 50, 000 dollars (equivalent of =N= 7.5 million).
He later signed a contract with CAF Champions League campaigners Sunshine Stars of Akure.
