Official: Arka Gdynia Terminate CHARLES NWAOGU's Contract For Insubordination
Published: September 04, 2012According to the official website, Polish I Liga side Arka Gdynia have parted company with Nigerian forward Charles Uchenna Nwaogu with effect from Tuesday, September 4.
The decision to terminate Nwaogu's contract was the decision of the Board. The Nigerian disobeyed the instruction of coach Petr Nemec.
Nwaogu won a penalty kick in the 90th minute of Saturday's meeting with Zawisza Bydgoszcz in Gdynia. Despite the clear recommendations of the coach, he took the penalty but failed to convert. Arka Gdynia lost the game 0 - 1.
''I do not know how to determine the behavior of the player. Screaming that the ball has to be taken by Marcus Vinicius and I am surprised that none of the players and the captain, who is right on these issues, do not react to my suggestions,'' coach Petr Nemec was quoted as saying by the online edition of Poland's leading sports daily Przegladsportowy.pl.
Nwaogu, who had an unsuccessful spell with Energie Cottbus in the 2011 - 2012 campaign, had played four matches for Arka Gdynia in Poland's second - tier.
