JOSEPH AKPALA Could Miss Bremen's Offer Of 1.2 Million Euros Annual Wages
Published: August 21, 2012Club Brugge are hoping to conclude a deal with their counterpart from Germany Werder Bremen for the Nigeria international Joseph Akpala.
Akpala, who turns 26 on Friday, had been expected to travel to Germany this week to sign a contract with Werder Bremen.
Bremen's exit from the German Cup against third division Preussen Münster last weekend means there is a drop in projected revenue, and the proposed switch of the former Bendel Insurance star may have met a brick-wall.
''For us, everything is finalized. Negotiations are over, we are waiting for confirmation from Bremen. That takes some time, but in our opinion the transfer is completed,'' Club Brugge general manager Vincent Mannaert was quoted as saying by voetbalprimeur.nl.
According to information from Bild, a transfer fee of 2.5 euros had been agreed by both clubs. Joseph Akpala will earn 1.2 million as annual wages if his move to Werder Bremen materializes.
