PELICANS ACE PRAYS FOR FALCONETS
Published: August 11, 2012As the female junior national team, Falconets Brace up for the start of healthy hostilities in this year’s edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Japan 2012, Pelican Stars of Calabar ace midfielder, Alad Yusuf has sent out words of prayers for a successful outing by Coach Edwin Okon’s girls.
The Falconets will square up against Italy, Korea and Brazil in Group B of the competition that runs from August 18 to September 8, and Alad stated in a chat with allnigeriasoccer.com that the Nigerian lasses will need all the morale support and prayers they can get to emerge victorious at the end of the championship in The Land of The Rising Sun.
“Playing at the World Cup is not easy at all,” said the former FC Robo and Tokas Queens of Lagos utility player, who was dropped from the cadet female team, Flamingoes’ camp in 2010 just a week before their departure to Trinidad & Tobago for the FIFA U-17 World Cup two years ago.
“I am hoping to be called to the Falconets camp for the next U-20 World Cup, and I believe it is right for me to pray for those who are going this year, so that will also pray for me when my time comes,” the Benue State-born fast-rising star admitted.
