Real Betis To Decide NOSA IGIEBOR's Fate On Monday, PSV Eindhoven On Alert
Published: August 10, 2012
According to information from our colleagues at estadiodeportivo.com, Monday, August 13 is the day of decision for Nosa Igiebor.
With only nine days to the start of La Liga, club president Miguel Guillen Vallejo has scheduled a meeting with coach Pepe Mel and the sporting director to finalize the details of Igiebor's proposed switch from Hapoel Tel Aviv to Real Betis.
It is an open secret that Real Betis are looking for a reinforcement in defensive midfield. Though not a defensive midfielder, Igiebor, a modern day midfielder as he can equally attack and defend, is the primary goal of the Verdiblancos.
Hapoel Tel Aviv have sanctioned Igiebor's move to Spain. But the player's representative frowned at the financial terms proposed by the Betis hierarchy. The club were only willing to increase his wages by 20,000 euros.
Nosa Igiebor has been included in Hapoel's roster for the Israeli championship which starts in two weeks time. That is only a precautionary motive to cushion any setback if his transfer out of the club does not come to fruition.
The Olympic National Team star is not lacking admirers. Clubs in Holland led by PSV Eindhoven and Russia are circling the 21 - year - old midfielder, Norwegian - Nigerian agent Atta Aneke told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Following Igiebor's imperious displays against PSV in last season's Europa League, the club are understood to be in contact with his agent, and a deal to bring the Nigerian to Eindhoven is even being discussed in the corridors of power.
Should Igiebor's transfer to PSV Eindhoven see the light of day, he is guaranteed annual wages of at least €400, 000, which is the minimum amount paid to a non -EU player in the Dutch championship. It is now logical that Atta Aneke, the agent of the former Lillestrom hero, feels his client is being exploited by Real Betis!
