Official: CHINEDU EDE Pens Four - Year Deal With Mainz
Published: July 24, 201225-year-old attacking midfielder Chinedu Ede has signed a four-year contract with Mainz 05, the official website of the Bundesliga club has reported.
Ede comes from Union Berlin in the second division, with whom he played 80 matches for and scored 11 goals (18 assists).
The ex Germany youth-teamer is relieved that the transfer to Mainz finally materialized after it was thought to have derailed.
Ede told the official website, mainz05.de: ''This is a great opportunity for me. I am convinced that this is exactly the right move for me. Also fits all the trappings. Every player wants to compete with the best and play in front of more viewers.''
A European champion with the German youth -team in 2009, Ede is still eligible to play for Nigeria though his father. He joins the former Lillestrom hero Anthony Ujah at the Coface Arena.
