Namibia Technical Director Throws In Towel
Published: June 01, 2012
Ahead of Sunday's game against the Super Eagles, Klaus Starke, Technical Director of Namibia Football Association has thrown in the towel, predicting that Nigeria will defeat the Brave Warriors in Calabar.
''Nigeria is a big country in African football. We are not on the pedestal with them. We are here with the hope to keep the scores low and not to win.
''We are not dreamers and would not pretend to be contenders for a ticket. We are building for the future and hopefully we shall be serious contenders for a slot in subsequent tournaments,'' Starke told Brila FM.
Namibia's delegation arrived the country on Thursday evening from their training camp in Germany. The team departed the International Airport, Lagos by 8:30pm. They connected a flight to Calabar, venue of the World Cup qualifying fixture, on Friday morning.
