Arsenal product Alex Iwobi throws jibe at Spurs after loss to Fulham
Published: March 17, 2025
Arsenal academy graduate Alex Iwobi took a dig at Tottenham Hotspur following Fulham's 2-0 victory over their London rivals on Sunday afternoon at Craven Cottage.
Iwobi, who started the game, was substituted in the second half as Fulham searched for a breakthrough.
Meanwhile, Brazilian forward Rodrigo Muniz, who was among the second half substitutes, made an instant impact, scoring the opener after an assist from Andreas Pereira in the 78th minute.
With two minutes left on the clock, Ryan Sessegnon then sealed the win against his former club with a stunning curling effort, capitalizing on poor defending from Ben Davies.
The victory boosts Fulham's hopes of securing a European spot, much to Iwobi's delight.
The Nigerian international, aware of the fierce North London rivalry due to his time at Arsenal, took to social media to mock Spurs.
Posting action shots from the game on Instagram, he captioned them with the phrase: "What Do We Think Of...?"—a question to mock the performance of Tottenham Hotspur at Craven Cottage.
Tottenham have struggled in the Premier League this season, with the team currently sitting fourteenth in the table.
The poor run has raised questions about manager Ange Postecoglou's future at the club.
Iwobi, meanwhile, has been enjoying a strong campaign with Fulham, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 29 appearances in the league.
His impressive performances have earned him a place in Nigeria's squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle will be hoping Iwobi carries his fine form into international duty as Nigeria looks to secure crucial victories in their qualification campaign.
