Osimhen raises concerns: Galatasaray striker asks to be substituted after scoring v Alanyaspor

Galatasaray maintained their undefeated streak in the Turkish Süper Lig with a 2-1 win against Alanyaspor on Sunday, March 9, 2025. 

However, the match was marred by concerns over the health of star striker Victor Osimhen, who scored the winning goal but appeared to suffer discomfort during the game.

The Nigerian forward had an eventful match, finding the net to secure the vital three points for Galatasaray, but shortly after, Osimhen signaled to the bench indicating his desire to leave the field.

Responding to Osimhen’s concerns, Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk took immediate action. 

He complied with the forward's request and substituted Osimhen out of the game. Ahmed Kutucu was brought on in his place to complete the remaining minutes of the match.

Osimhen’s departure from the game raised alarm among fans and staff alike, as the striker's health and fitness are crucial to Galatasaray's title ambitions.
