Published: December 10, 2024
Udinese Calcio have announced that Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has successfully undergone surgery to repair a wrist injury sustained during a match against Genoa in Serie A.
The club confirmed the news on its official website, stating that the operation addressed damage to the scapholunate ligament in Okoye's right wrist.
Okoye, who has become an essential figure for Udinese since joining from Watford, missed the team's recent 2-1 victory over Monza due to the injury.
The Nigerian international has made a significant impact on the pitch, featuring in fifteen matches across all competitions this season and keeping four clean sheets.
The surgery, performed by Dr. Loris Pegoli at the renowned La Madonnina clinic in Milan, was described as a complete success.
Following the procedure, Okoye is set to begin rehabilitation in the coming weeks, with hopes of a swift recovery.

As he embarks on his recovery journey, the Super Eagles goalkeeper will be eager to return to action and solidify his position in the team.
