'Should stay calm a little longer' - Galatasaray great advises Osimhen to keep his cool
Published: December 02, 2024
Ümit Davala, who won four Turkish Super Lig titles with Galatasaray and a bronze medal at the 2002 Fifa World Cup, has urged Victor Osimhen to exercise patience after he was unable to find the net against Eyüpspor on Sunday.
Although Osimhen did not score, he did contribute an assist during the match, which ended in a 2-2 draw for Galatasaray at RAMS Park.
Since joining Galatasaray, Osimhen has made a remarkable impact, having scored or assisted in every Super Lig match with the exception of the narrow 1-0 victory over Bodrum FK.
His consistent performances have established him as one of the standout players in the squad.
Commenting on the situation, Davala recognized Osimhen's vital role in the team but stressed the need for him to maintain composure during matches.
"Everyone says, 'If Osimhen is there, there is no problem'. He already feels that," Ümit Davala said on the Assist Analysis Youtube channel via habersarikirmizi.
"If he had stayed clam a little longer during the match, I think he could have taken advantage of these positions. We already see that he has taken on a lot of responsibility."
The Nigerian forward has become an essential asset for Galatasaray following his loan transfer from Napoli.
Since making the move last summer, Osimhen has netted nine goals and contributed five assists in twelve games across all competitions.
