Super Eagles duo Osimhen, Olawoyin named in Super Lig Team of the Week
Published: November 11, 2024
After the conclusion of the latest round of games in the Süper Lig, Whoscored.com has named two Super Eagles players in the Team of the Week.
Having grabbed a brace in table-toppers Galatasaray's 3-2 win over Samsunspor, Victor Osimhen was named in the team alongside Ibrahim Olawoyin who grabbed a goal in Çaykur Rizespor's 3-1 win over Trabzonspor.
Osimhen gave Galatasaray the lead with a bullet header in the third minute to deny Samsunspor from getting into any rhythm and to continue his streak of getting a goal involvement in every Süper Lig game he has played.
Samsunspor levelled the scoring from the penalty spot in the early stages of the second half before the Nigerian striker restored the lead for Okan Buruk's side.
His performance against the Red Lighting earned him a rating of 8.73, the second highest, with Allan Saint-Maximin, who got 9.49, being the only player to have earned higher.
Olawoyin netted in the 80th minute to seal Rizespor's victory over Trabzonspor, maintaining composure before slotting the ball into the back of the net.
It was the midfielder's first goal of the campaign and his second goal involvement, having notched an assist against Sivasspor in the previous matchday.
The 26-year-old earned an 8.39 rating for his performance and was the only Rizespor player named in the team.
