Former West Ham defender Jeff Brazier has expressed his surprise at Victor Osimhen’s decision to join Turkish club Galatasaray, stating that the forward has the skill set to succeed at elite European clubs like Real Madrid.

His high-profile move to Galatasaray came after a summer full of speculation, with many expecting the Super Eagles forward to secure a transfer to one of Europe’s powerhouses.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year joined the Yellow-Reds on a season-long loan from Napoli in September, despite heavy interest from several top European clubs, including PSG, Chelsea, and Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

Should he decide to make the move permanent, Brazier believes it would be a significant boost for the club, helping Galatasaray compete for European honours.

"We hear that he enjoys playing here and may want to stay. This is a great thing for Galatasaray fans, who can dream of not only defending their league title but also winning trophies in Europe,” Brazier added.
