Dundee forward Adewumi named in Team of the Week dominated by Celtic players
Published: November 04, 2024Dundee's dual-national forward Oluwaseun Adewumi has been named in the BBC's Team of the Week for players representing Scottish clubs.
The Austria U21 international of Nigerian descent was impressive on Sunday as Dundee came back from two goals down to defeat Kilmarnock 3-2 in a Scottish Premiership encounter at Scot Foam Stadium at Dens Park in Dundee.
After seeing his shot hit the side-netting in the 34th minute, Adewumi provided the assist as Palmer-Houlden reduced the deficit four minutes before the interval.
It is not surprising that the Team of the Week is dominated by Celtic after their 6-0 rout of Aberdeen, a result that saw them advance to the final of the Scottish League Cup.
The Hoops have contributed five players to the best XI, with Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate, Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda making the cut.
Apart from bagging an assist, Adewumi brought energy and drive to Dundee's offensive play but was replaced four minutes after he was shown a yellow card.
He joined Championship outfit Burnley from Austrian side Floridsdorfer AC for an undisclosed fee on deadline day, and was immediately loaned out to Dundee.
The 19-year-old has played in six games for Dundee, registering a goal and an assist, while logging 209 minutes.
