'He wants to take away my position' - Arokodare teases teammate after Genk's win against Antwerp

Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare continued his impressive form for Racing Genk, playing a crucial role in their 2-0 victory over Antwerp in the Jupiler Pro League on Sunday, November 3.

Although he didn't find the back of the net, Arokodare provided an assist and put in a strong performance, catching the attention of fans and pundits alike.

Arokodare's assist came just before halftime, as his header set up Patrik Hrosovsky for the opening goal.

Arokodare's hold-up play and physicality caused problems for Antwerp's defense, particularly Toby Alderweireld, and his contribution was evident despite not putting his name on the scoresheet.

In a post-match interview with Sporza via Voetbalkrant, Arokodare jokingly teased his teammate Hrosovsky who was more decisive than the Nigerian in the win against Antwerp.

Tolu said: "He wants to take away my position as striker."

This season, Arokodare has established himself as one of the top strikers in the Belgian top flight.

With eight goals and two assists in 13 appearances, he sits atop the scoring charts.

Arokodare's most recent goal came in a 2-0 win at Gent, solidifying his position as Genk's leading scorer.

Genk are the winter champions of the Jupiler Pro League as they have a seven-point lead over nearest challengers Club Brugge.
