Princess Ademiluyi: England make move to beat Nigeria to West Ham's history-making attacker
Published: October 17, 2024The English Football Association have made a concrete move to beat Nigeria to the services of history-making West Ham United attacker Princess Ademiluyi, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Ademiluyi is the first player from West Ham United Foundation's Player Pathway to play for the women’s team at senior level and sign a professional contract, making history in the process.
In July 2024, she moved to Charlton Athletic on a season-long loan in search of first team football.
Although the promising striker has yet to score her first goal for the Addicks in the second tier of English football, her overall performance has not gone unnoticed.
England Women U19s head coach, Lauren Smith has handed Princess Ademiluyi a call-up for the Young Lionesses' friendly matches in October.
England will take on the Netherlands on Friday, October 25 before meeting Norway on Monday, October 28.
The dual-national striker, who is eligible to represent the Super Falcons through her parents, could be in contention to be called up for the 2025 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship qualifiers next month if she impresses during the training camp in October.
While the fixtures this month are not competitive, Ademiluyi will be provisionally cap-tied to England should she make an appearance for the Young Lionesses next month.
England provisionally cap-tied Arsenal duo Omotara Junaid and Chiemela Ude, and Manchester City forward Jane Oboavwoduo in 2024.
