Lazio manager Marco Baroni has emphasized the areas Fisayo Dele-Bashiru needs to work on to enhance his game and reach his potential as a top midfielder.
This assessment followed Dele-Bashiru's impressive performance against Dynamo Kyiv in the UEFA Europa League on Wednesday night,
Dele-Bashiru scored and assisted in Lazio's victory over Dynamo Kyiv at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg.
The Super Eagles midfielder doubled Lazio's advantage in the 33rd minute by finishing a through ball from Matias Vecino.
Two minutes later, he switched from scorer to provider, delivering a curling right-footed cross to Boulaye Dia, who soared to head in his second goal and third of the game.
Speaking to Skysport Italia via Lazionews, Baroni expressed overall satisfaction with the team's performance.
"Today I am happy with the team's performance and also with some individuals, but I won't tell you," Baroni expressed
He further highlighted the need for Dele-Bashiru to improve his tactical awareness.
“Dele-Bashiru must be built in the sense that he has quality and physicality, but he must have more thought from a tactical point of view. The moment he finds this he becomes an important midfielder,” Baroni stated.
Dele-Bashiru was substituted in the 79th minute for Tijjani Noslin, who was subsequently sent off for violent conduct.
The midfielder will be hopeful that his contributions in the match will boost his confidence and aid in his development as a player.
