Butler-Oyedeji trains with Arsenal first team ahead of Premier League clash against Brighton
Published: August 28, 2024According to Arsenal youth expert Jeorge Bird, Anglo-Nigerian forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji trained with Arsenal's first team ahead of their Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 21-year-old has been in great form for the Gunners development side since the start of this campaign, scoring three goals, which includes a strike against Manchester United and registering an assist in two appearances in the Premier League 2.
Mikel Arteta has rewarded the young striker for his stellar form for the U21s by inviting him to training today at the Sobha Realty Training Centre, which also serves as the home ground for the U18s.
Butler-Oyedeji joined the north London club at the age of eight and has played for the youth sides but he is yet to make his debut for the first-team.
To garner first-team experience, he has spent two loan terms with Accrington Stanley and Cheltenham Town and has been linked with Belgian outfits Standard Liege and Eupen this summer.
With the stern competition for a spot in Arteta's team, it has been difficult for him to break into the first team, and his chances of making it into the matchday squad for the Brighton clash are low at the moment.
Arsenal have begun the season in good form, picking up maximum points in their opening two Premier League games against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa, respectively.
The Gunners will be hoping to make it three consecutive wins when they play host to the Seagulls in the early kick-off fixture on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.
