Fenerbahce identify Nigerian left-back as potential replacement for Brighton, Manchester United target
Published: August 17, 2024According to matching press reports in Italy and Turkey, Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce have identified Danish-born Nigerian left-back Patrick Dorgu as a potential replacement for Ferdi Kadioglu who has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League before the close of the summer transfer window.
Manchester United and Brighton & Hove are interested in signing the Dutch-born Turkey international who impressed at the 2024 European Championship.
Fenerbahce are considering selling Ferdi Kadioglu after they missed out on Champions League qualification following their loss to Lille in the third qualifying round.
Manchester United are in the market for a left-back following injuries to both Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw.
According to Turkish sports daily Fanatik, Fenerbahce have found the player they are looking for to replace Kadioglu in the event that he is sold to one of his suitors.
It is claimed that the Yellow Canaries have made an official offer to Lecce for their teenage fullback Patrick Dorgu.
Fenerbahce have offered fifteen million euros for Dorgu, who is now a key player for Lecce after breaking into the first team in the 2023-2024 season.
He totaled 34 appearances for the Giallorossi last season and started their first competitive game of the new season.
Signed from FC Nordsjaelland in 2022, he is under contract at Lecce until June 30, 2027.
