Former Super Eagles defender, Sam Elijah has identified Club Brugge star Raphael Onyedika oas the most talented midfielder in the current Super Eagles squad.
Elijah praised Onyedika for his outstanding abilities and commitment on the field.
The Super Eagles boast several high-caliber midfielders, including Wilfred Ndidi, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Alex Iwobi.
However, when asked to single out the midfielder who has impressed him the most, Elijah unhesitatingly named Onyedika.
"For me, I think Onyedika impresses me the most because he is committed. When you see him play, he is ready to do everything," Elijah told allnigeriasoccer.com.
"He is giving his all to the team in terms of defending, you see him making tackles and challenges and you also see him contributing the control of possession too."
Elijah highlighted Onyedika's dedication, his ability to keep possession, and his skill in controlling the game's tempo as key attributes that set him apart.
"He is a box-to-box defensive midfielder; for me, he is the best," Elijah added.
Born in Imo State, Onyedika made his debut for Nigeria against Algeria on September 27, 2022, coming on as a substitute for Frank Onyeka in a match that ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Super Eagles.
