Super Falcons dazzler namechecks two good players in Spain squad, labels Barcelona alum Oshoala a legend

Super Falcons dazzler Gift Monday has namechecked two good players in Spain women's national team squad ahead of Sunday's showdown between the African powerhouse and world champions at Stade de la Beaujoire - Louis Fonteneau (Nantes).
Monday knows a thing or two about La Roja as she is on the books of Spanish Liga F club Costa Adeje Tenerife Egatesa.
As of now, the crowd-pleaser is not in contention to make her Olympics debut, given that she didn't crack the final 18-play squad but was named on the roster as one of the four alternate players.
Monday highlighted Barcelona duo Alexia Putellas and Aitana Bonmatí as she spoke about the good players in Spain's squad.
Speaking on the eve of the opening games in Group C of the 2024 Olympic Games, Monday told Spanish sports daily AS: "They have many good players like Alexia Putellas and Aitana Bonmatí, for me the latter is the creator of the team’s play."
Another Super Falcons player who knows the Spanish team very well is former Barcelona star Asisat Oshoala.
Nigeria boss Randy Waldrum opted to leave the Bay FC striker on the bench for the entirety of Thursday's narrow 1-0 loss to Brazil despite the team in search of a goal, fueling speculation that she's not in tiptop condition.
Monday only has good things to say about Oshoala, who is the reigning queen of African football, having won the African Women's Footballer of the Year award a record-extending sixth time in 2023.
"She is inspiring, a legend who helps you do things better. She is very humble and is always willing to teach you to grow.
"Being by her side improves you football-wise, physically and mentally... In every sense," she concluded.
