Super Falcons-eligible player named in Manchester United squad for SuperCupNI
Published: July 24, 2024Manchester United have sent a Girls Premier team to compete at one of the world's most renowned youth football tournaments, SuperCupNI, formerly known as the NI Milk Cup, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Talented Super Falcons-eligible player Jessica Nwachukwu has been selected in Manchester United's squad.
The English Football Association are believed to ahead of their Nigerian counterparts in the race for the services of Nwachukwu, given that she has been selected for an England U15 training camp in the past.
To be eligible to feature in the SuperCupNI Girls Premier, players must be born on or after January 1, 2008.
The 2024 tournament takes place in Northern Ireland between Sunday 21st July and Friday 26th July 2024.
Manchester United have been drawn in Group A alongside Aston Villa, Surf Select and USSSA Select.
The Red Devils had a fine start to the tournament, beating USSSA Select 3-0 at Rathcoole on July 22, before a 3-1 win versus Surf Select the following day.
Promising goalkeeper Darlington Osuchukwu and Noah Ajayi have been registered by Manchester United for the Boys Premier Section.
Victor Musa, Habeeb Ogunneye and Majid Balogun were named in the United squads for the 40th edition of the SuperCupNI held last July.
