2019 Golden Eaglets invitee included in Brighton's travelling squad to Japan
Published: July 21, 2024Brighton & Hove Albion have included 2019 Golden Eaglets invitee Odeluga Offiah in their pre-season squad to Japan.
The Seagulls are gearing up for the new season with a new manager Fabian Hürzeler with their trip to Japan and have two games lined up against Japanese clubs Kashima Antlers and Tokyo Verdy at the National Stadium.
Offiah joined Brighton from Bromley in 2017, progressed through the academy to make his debut for the first team in 2021 but hasn't kicked on with his career since then.
He was sent on loan to Scottish outfit Heart of Midlothian at the start of last season but his stay there was cut short, due to medical issues and had to return to his parent club.
The London-born defender would then make his first appearance at the American Express Stadium in a Premier League game against Manchester City in April.
He ended the season with four appearances in the English top-flight and also played six games for the development side in the Premier League 2 while trying to build his fitness.
The 21-year-old will be hoping to get more game time in the coming campaign but will have to impress Hürzeler during the preseason fixtures.
After facing Kashima Antlers and Tokyo Verdy, Brighton will then continue their preparation for the new season with games against Queens Park Rangers and Villarreal.
