Euro 2024 final: Oliseh singles out Yamal, three other Spain players for praise after win against England

Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has singled out the Spanish quartet of Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, Dani Olmo and Rodri as well as their manager Luis de la Fuente for praise after Spain defeated England in the 2024 European Championship final on Sunday night.

Two minutes after the start of the second half, Spain opened the scoring after Yamal had set up Williams who slotted the ball past Jordan Pickford.

England drew level through substitute Cole Palmer whose deflected shot was buried into the bottom-left corner, courtesy of an initial pass from Jude Bellingham.

Four minutes before the end of the regulation time, Mikel Oyarzabal made the most out of Marc Cucurella's pass and poked the ball home to give Spain the winning goal.

Oliseh took to his official X account to praise the efforts of Yamal, Williams, Olmo and Rodri for their performances in the 2024 European championship and also gave credit to their manager De la Fuente.

Yamal finished the competition with one goal and four assists and broke a host of records, one of which being the youngest player to provide an assist in the final of the European Championship, as revealed by statisticians from Opta.

Williams and Olmo also played an instrumental role in La Furia Roja's success,  with the former scoring two goals and assisting once in six games while the latter notched three goals and two assists

Rodri was the cream of the crop as he was the awarded the player of the tournament for his magnificent display in the middle of the park throughout the competition.
