Dele-Bashiru joins Lazio on four-year deal, subject to medical on Friday night and Saturday morning
Published: July 05, 2024Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has agreed a four-year contract with Italian side Lazio.
He will undergo a routine medical at Lazio on Friday night and Saturday morning, ahead of a potential unveiling.
The Hatayspor star will initially join on loan but there is an obligation to buy inserted in the contract, with the Manchester City Academy product set to become Lazio's fourth signing of the summer.
The White and Sky Blues' midfield have been decimated with the exit of Luis Alberto who has left for Qatar-based side Al Duhail and Daichi Kamada who has joined Crystal Palace as a free agent.
As a result, it became important for the Italian Serie A side to bolster the midfield with Dele-Bashiru now being one of the players being brought in to fill the vacuum left by Alberto and Kamada.
The Nigeria international has enjoyed a meteoric rise since leaving Sheffield Wednesday for Hatayspor last summer, starting 34 games in the Super Lig last term.
He would record 13 goal involvements which was the most for Hatayspor in the Super in 2023-2024 and that earned him a whoscored.com's rating of 6.79 which was the fourth highest among his teammates.
Dele-Bashiru's rise didn't go unnoticed back home as he got his first call up to the Super Eagles last October in the back-to-back friendlies against Mozambique and Saudi Arabia.
