Back to sender: Fiorentina reject Aston Villa's N33b bid for Kayode
Published: June 29, 2024According to La Nazione via ViolaNews, Fiorentina have rejected Aston Villa's €20m 9approximately N33 billion in Nigerian currency) bid for Italian-Nigerian fullback Michael Kayode.
The Lions are one of the teams interested in the Italy youth international who impressed in his debut season in the Serie A with Fiorentina in the last campaign.
They are reportedly considering him as a replacement for Matty Cash who might depart this summer after nearly four years of representing the club.
Having qualified for the UEFA Champions League , Aston Villa will have a hectic schedule in the next campaign and can't afford to have a vacuum in the squad, hence the need to address Cash's potential exit.
Kayode is on the radar of the Premier League outfit having shown his readiness and quality to play in the European top-flight with his performances for Fiorentina.
Last season, the 19-year-old made 26 appearances in the Italian top-flight and recorded three goal involvements which will earn him a whoscored.com's rating of 6.82, the most of any right back in the division.
He was also named in whoscored.com's Serie A Team of the Season which rubber stamps how brilliant he was in the last campaign.
Beside Aston Villa, he has also caught the attention of Tottenham who would want him to replace Emerson Royal.
