'Objective always the PL' - Italian report reveals Osimhen has ruled out Al-Hilal move; PSG an alternative
Published: June 16, 2024Victor Osimhen's priority is to join an English Premier League club in the summer transfer window and the Napoli striker has reportedly ruled out a move to the Saudi Pro League.
The Nigeria international extended his contract with Napoli last December, with a release clause of around 130 million euros inserted into the agreement.
Osimhen has been linked with possible moves to Chelsea and Arsenal but the two London clubs have turned their attention to cheaper alternatives and younger center forwards.
Chelsea and Arsenal have baulked at Osimhen's asking price, given that he has two years to run on his contract with Napoli and failed to replicate his performance from the 2022-2023 season.
Paris Saint-Germain have also been mentioned as a possible destination for the reigning African Footballer of the Year but nothing is concrete as of now.
"Osimhen has ruled out, at the moment, the Arabia hypothesis: Al Hilal doesn't attract him and he has put PSG on stand-by. His objective is always the Premier League," La Repubblica wrote, via Tutto Napoli.
It remains to be seen whether Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis will reduce the asking price for his number 9 or accept a player as makeweight in the proposed deal.
Since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020, Osimhen has mustered 76 goals in 133 appearances.
