Tottenham Hotspur discover how much it would cost to sign Super Eagles-eligible striker
Published: June 07, 2024Super Eagles-eligible striker Dominic Solanke was in stellar form for Bournemouth in the just concluded campaign and is being linked with an exit from the Vitality Stadium with Tottenham reportedly interested in him.
Premised on that, The Athletic (subscription required) has revealed that the former Liverpool forward has a release clause of £65m which can only be activated by some unnamed clubs.
While Liverpool have lost the right to trigger the buy-back clause inserted in his contract when he joined Bournemouth, the Reds are still entitled to 20% of the profit made from his sale.
They could also decide to join the race for his signature but at the moment it is Tottenham that have been linked heavily with the Cobham Academy product.
The north London side's interest in the 26-year-old predates this summer as the club is yet to replace Three Lions' skipper Harry Kane who left for Bayern Munich last summer.
They are reportedly ready to sell Richarlison to fund the transfer of the English-born striker with the Brazilian failing to impress since he joined from Everton, scoring just 15 goals in 66 appearances.
Solanke tallied 19 goals in the Premier League last term, two more than Spurs' top scorer Son Heung-Min and the fourth most in the entire division.
