Confirmed: Chelsea youth product Dubem Eze released by Norwich City
Published: May 20, 2024With a statement on their official website, Norwich City have confirmed the list of players to be retained or released following the conclusion of the 2023-2024 season.
As exclusively reported by allnigeriasoccer.com 58 days ago, the Canaries have confirmed that Chelsea's Cobham product Dubem Eze will be departing the club upon the expiry of his contract on June 30, 2024.
Eze was on the books of Chelsea for seven years before transferring to Derby County at the age of sixteen.
The promising attacking midfielder spent a portion of the 2023-2024 season on loan at National League North club Warrington Town F.C, where he scored two goals in six outings in the sixth tier of English football.
Eze joined Norwich City on scholarship terms in December 2021 and went to sign his first professional contract last July.
The 19-year-old represented the Canaries in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2, FA Youth Cup, U18 and U21 Premier League Cup.
It is understood that Eze has a deal in place for him to join another English Football League club ahead of the start of next season, with a two-year deal on the table.
Norwich City have also confirmed that Irish-born Nigerian defender Emmanuel Adegboyega is back at Carrow Road following the end of a successful loan spell at League Two club Walsall, for whom he made thirteen appearances in the fourth tier.
The Canaries are in talks with free-scoring Nigerian center forward Ken Aboh over a new contract.
