Retained and released list: Swindon Town make decisions on four Nigerians including ex-Flying Eagles star
Published: May 02, 2024EFL League Two club Swindon Town have announced their retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2023-2024 season.
The Robins have made decisions on the future of four Nigerian players including former Nigeria U20 international Nnamdi Ofoborh, versatile midfielder Tariq Uwakwe, defender Udoka Godwin-Malife and 2016 Nigeria's Olympic national team invitee Tomi Adeloye.
Ofoborh joined Swindon Town on a free transfer in March 2024 after spells with Bournemouth, Wycombe Wanderers and Rangers.
The central midfielder, who is out of contract in June, has been offered a new deal to extend his stay at the County Ground.
Ofoborh made seven appearances in the League Two in the back end of the season.
Chelsea-reared player Uwakwe is under contract for the 2024-2025 season and will be staying at the club provided he is not sold in the summer transfer window.
The London native had an injury plagued campaign, limiting his appearances to eleven in all competitions.
Swindon Town have exercised their option to extend Udoka Godwin-Malife's contract.
The central defender was a key player in the recently concluded season, starting 41 out of the 46 games played by the club in the League Two.
Meanwhile, Stoke City academy product Adeloye is out of contract in June and has been released.
The 28-year-old spent the entirety of the season on loan at Partick Thistle, featuring in 21 matches in the Scottish Championship and netting 8 goals.
