'I prefer him to Pulisic' - Sabatini wants Chukwueze to replace USMNT star in AC Milan starting XI
Published: April 02, 2024
Italian pundit Sandro Sabatini believes Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze should replace United States international Christian Pulisic in AC Milan's starting lineup next season.
The duo moved to the San Siro last summer but despite reports that the Nigeria international was the Rossoneri's first choice for the right-wing , it is the former Chelsea star that has played the most in the position since the start of the season.
Unlike the former Villarreal forward, Pulisic has had a bright start to life for the Italian giants and it is no surprise that he has gotten the nod of manager Stefano Pioli over the former.
The USMNT star man has 20 goals contributions across all competitions this season, which is miles away from that of Chukwueze who has just four goals involvements.
However, the Nigerian forward's last two performances during AC Milan's Serie A victories over Hellas Verona and Fiorentina respectively have sparked excitement.
This explains the reason for Sabatini's position that the Nigerian forward should start ahead of his American counterpart next season.
Speaking to radiorossonera, the Italian pundit expressed his confidence in Chukwueze and believes that he should be a regular starter in the next campaign
"For me, Chukwueze has quality, he is a technical player that I like very much. . For next year I prefer him to Pulisic in perspective, in my opinion he is a boy who has some numbers.
"I know I'm saying something unpopular and I won't argue about the 28 million because then it's necessary to make comparisons."
