Victor Osimhen set to reach milestone in Napoli's Serie A clash against Torino

Nigeria international Victor Osimhen is set to reach a milestone in Napoli's Serie A meeting with Torino at the Diego Maradona Stadium on Friday evening.
If the Napoli number 9 earns minutes against Torino, it will mark his 100th appearance in the Italian top-flight since making his debut in the competition against Parma on the opening day of the 2020-2021 season.
Since joining Napoli, he has played in ninety-nine matches in the Serie A from a possibly 141.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year missed 42 games due to injuries and commitments with the Nigeria national team at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
In 99 appearances for Napoli in the Serie A, Osimhen has mustered 61 goals comprising 10 in his debut season, 14 in 2021-2022, 26 in 2022-2023 and eleven so far this season.
According to Italian sports daily Corriere dello Sport, only Cristiano Ronaldo (81 goals), Gonzalo Higuain (65), Andriy Shevchenko (64), Vincenzo Montella (64) and David Trezeguet (63) bettered Osimhen's tally after 99 matches.
The Nigerian holds the record of being the Napoli player to have scored the most consecutive times in the Serie A (8) and he is the third Napoli player in history, alongside Diego Maradona and Sallustro, to achieve double-digit goals in four consecutive seasons.
Osimhen has logged 7, 392 minutes spread across 99 matches in the Italian top-flight, 83 of which he started.
