2023 AFCON star Lookman and Zirkzee trade goals as Atalanta lose to surprise package Bologna

2023 Africa Cup of Nations star Ademola Lookman scored a goal in Atalanta's 2-1 loss to this season's surprise package in the Serie A, Bologna on Sunday evening at the Gewiss Stadium on matchday 27.
The 26-year-old put the home side in front in the 28th minute, taking advantage of a goalmouth scramble with a rebound shot to score for the first time since returning from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
He had the chance to double the Black and Blues' lead in the 37th minute but had his shot blocked and his strike was the only difference between both sides heading into halftime.
Joshua Zirkzee drew level for Bologna from the penalty spot in the 57th minute after an infringement was spotted in the box.
Four minutes later, Lewis Ferguson put the away side in front with a magnificent strike from outside the penalty area to ensure Lookman's goal counted for nothing at the end of the game.
Today marks the first time that the Nigeria international will find the back of the net against Bologna, having drawn blanks in his two previous games.
Despite being on the losing side, the former Everton forward had a good game, recorded 73 touches, completed 85% of his passes, dribbled past his marker on three occasions, and put on a good defensive shift, winning eight of his 14 ground duels.
He has now registered eight goals in the Serie A this season and 11 goal involvements in 20 games.
