West Ham finding it difficult to complete January deal for Nigerian striker 

Montpellier are unwilling to sell Nigerian striker Akor Adams who is interesting West Ham United ahead of the reopening of the transfer window.
 


According to Football Insider, the French side will pull the plug on any move for the former flying Eagles forward with the club at risk of being relegated.

 

With Michail Antonio sidelined with a knee injury and Danny Ings struggling for form, West Ham want to bolster their attacking department in January with the addition of Adams but might be forced to look elsewhere unless Montpellier their stance.


The Hammers are also monitoring in-form Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy who is the second-top scorer in the German Bundesliga but will have Manchester United to contend with for his signature.


Despite Adams not finding the back of the net in eight consecutive Ligue 1 games, he is the third top scorer in the division alongside former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette.


The 23-year-old grabbed the attention of Montpellier in the summer after impressing at Norwegian club Lillestrøm, scoring 28 goals and mustering seven assists in 50 appearances.


He has made 17 appearances across all competitions in the 2023-2024 season and has seven goals to his credit.
