'It doesn't appear he's happy' - Malfitano makes huge claim over the future of Napoli striker Osimhen

Italian football pundit and Gazzetta dello Sport reporter, Mimmo Malfitano has claimed that Victor Osimehn wants to leave Napoli and that he is not happy at the club.

A recent row occurred between the Nigeria international and the Italian giants due to a video posted on TikTok mocking him for a penalty miss against Bologna but he has come out to declare his commitment to the Naples-based side.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis earlier this week also expressed his confidence that Osimhen is happy at the club and will sign a contract extension.

In contrast to De Laurentiis' statement, Malfitano has claimed that the 24-year-old is not happy at Napoli and is interested in the club

"Osimhen will not reach the deadline and will leave because he will still have one year left on his contract at the end of the current football season, but it doesn't appear to me that he is happy as Aurelio De Laurentiis recently stated," Malfitano told Tele A via Area Napoli.

"The player doesn't want to stay and I'll also explain why. If he really wanted to continue his adventure in Naples he wouldn't say anything about the clause.

"If the president wants to set it at 150 million, why does the Nigerian say no? He wants to leave, that's the truth. Do you know what De Laurentiis proposed to Osimhen? 10 million, a very important figure."

Premier League duo, Manchester United and Chelsea alongside Bayern Munich and PSG were interested in his services in the just-concluded transfer window but were scared off by his huge transfer valuation.

Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal also tabled bids for the 2022-2023 Serie A Best Striker but had their advancements turned down by Napoli.

Should he become available in the next transfer window, it won't be surprising that the aforementioned clubs signal interest in his services once again.
