'I'm not giving up' - Rangers striker Dessers vows to push harder to regain his place in starting XI

Nigeria international Cyriel Dessers has vowed to fight to regain his place in Rangers' starting XI.
Before the Light Blues' victory over Motherwell last weekend in the Scottish Premiership, Dessers had only managed to play a minute in the club's previous two games against St. Johnstone and Real Betis respectively.
Rangers' manager Michael Beale had to drop him to the bench after a string of unconvincing performances and with pressure mounting on the former Liverpool and Chelsea youth coach.
Dessers got himself back into the team last weekend after fellow summer signing Danilo picked up an injury and netted his first league goal for the Scottish giants in their triumph over Motherwell.
The 28-year-old has revealed that he will keep working hard and regain his place in Beale's first XI.
"All I work for during the week is to start these important matches. At the moment the manager makes his choices and that's part of football," Dessers was quoted as saying by Daily Record.
"It's also part of being at a big club like Rangers. I work hard every day and I will keep pushing and keep working. I will wait for my moment and when my moment is there I will show it on the pitch. It's all about that in football"
"Of course, I didn't want to get my chance because of Danilo's injury. He's a really good guy and a top player. I feel really bad for him with his injury, we all do. I hope he will be back soon. We have three or four really good strikers and with so many games this season we will need everyone."
"I am sure I will play my part and make my goals because I know you have to take your chances. It's part of being at a big club, I have experience of this from Feyenoord.
"I am used to this. I am not giving up, in fact, I will push harder. That will be good for the players playing right now and also for myself. We push each other."
The former Cremonese forward will have another chance to regain his manager's trust when Rangers square up against Livingston in the quarterfinals of the Scottish League Cup.
