Rangers striker Dessers reveals why UCL playoff tie against PSV is a special game

Nigeria international Cyriel Dessers is looking forward to facing PSV Eindhoven in the playoff round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers under the lights at the Ibrox Stadium on Tuesday, August 22.
Dessers is a household name in Dutch football having impressed during stints at Heracles Almelo, NAC Breda, Feyenoord Rotterdam and FC Utrecht.
Overall, the attacker directly participated in an impressive 116 goals (86 goals, 30 assists) from 166 appearances combined for the four Dutch clubs.
In six career appearances against PSV Eindhoven, Dessers has netted three goals and has an assist to his name.
Having struggled in his first games for Rangers due to fitness issues, Dessers showed that he is nearing his best shape with a goal and assist in his last outing for Rangers, a 2-1 win versus Greenock Morton FC in the Scottish League Cup.
Speaking at a press conference on the eve of the meeting with PSV, Dessers said: "It is a special game for me because I played for five years in the Netherlands, I know the club, I know the country so it will be special but I don't want to be too sentimental about it.
"The goals for Rangers and for myself are clear. I hope in these two games in the Champions League and in the coming two weeks that I can show the best of me."
Rangers advanced to the Champions League playoffs after beating Swiss opponents Servette FC in the third round of the qualifiers.
