'There are a lot of similarities' - Bayer Leverkusen striker Boniface likens himself to Osimhen
Published: August 06, 2023Victor Boniface has revealed that his style of play is similar to that of his compatriot Victor Osimhen and that he can learn from him.
Boniface completed a transfer to German Bundesliga side Bayern Leverkusen from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise this summer after an impressive campaign which saw him finish as the joint top scorer in the UEFA Europa League.
Just like the new Bayern Leverkusen striker, Osimhen became one of the most prolific strikers in Europe last season having finished as the fifth top scorer in the European top five leagues registering 26 league goals in the Italian Serie A.
Boniface has admitted that his style of play shares a resemblance with that of the Napoli striker and that he can borrow a leaf from him.
In quotes relayed by Bild, Boniface said: "There are really a lot of similarities. He's a good player from whom I can learn a lot from".
The 23-year-old scored his first goal for Bayern Leverkusen in their 4-0 hammering of last season's UEFA Europa Conference League winners West Ham United in a pre-season encounter yesterday.
"The mood was wonderful for my first home game, it was a top performance by everyone in the team," concluded Boniface.
He could make his competitive debut when the Xabi Alonso's led side face Teutonia Ottensen in the DFB-Pokal first round on August 12.
