The team consists of players at the peak of their power. Among them are Ijeoma Esther Okoronkwo, whose goal secured Nigeria’s qualification for the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, and Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade, who was listed as the most promising young footballer in Africa by Goal.com.

Accusations as the Nigerians Prepare

In another interview with the ”Sounding off on Soccer” podcast, Waldrum expressed concern for the lack of preparation due to the negligence of the NFF. However, the coach has admitted to being excited to see the talented quad at full potential.

What to Look Forward to?

Despite all the controversy, the 23-player team is preparing to face serious competition. By facing Canada on the 21st of July, at Melbourne's Rectangular Stadium, Nigeria will start its World Cup campaign.

Four days after clashing with Canada, the Nigerian team will face Australia and on the 31st of July, they will be facing the Republic of Ireland at Lang Park in Brisbane, Australia.
