Ayinde advises Osimhen to stay put at Napoli amid links with Man Utd, Chelsea, PSG
Published: July 29, 2023Former Golden Eaglets invitee, Kehinde Ayinde has advised Victor Osimhen to stay at Napoli, amid speculation regarding his future.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with the Super Eagles striker following his impressive performance in front of goal last season.
The 24-year-old bagged 26 league goals to become the first Partenopei player to win the Serie A top scorer award since Gonzalo Higuain did the same in the 2015/2016 season.
When asked to react to reports linking Osimhen with Man United, Chelsea and PSG, Ayinde told allnigeriasoccer.com: "I will advise him to remain in Napoli because he has already adapted to the system of the team.
"He understands the league and I think if he stays at Napoli this season, he will still do great things because he is one of the best strikers in the world presently."
Despite interest from the European clubs, the Serie A defending champions are also keen on keeping him and are said to be close to agreeing a contract extension with the Nigerian striker.
The 2022/2023 Serie A Best Striker has resumed training ahead of the start of the upcoming campaign.
He bagged a brace today in Napoli's 4-0 pre-season win over Hatayspor and his new manager Rudi Garcia will be hoping that he can continue being prolific in front of goal and help his side defend the league title they won last season
