'They are going for Kane, Muani' - Pundit explains why Kahn made those comments about Osimhen
Published: May 12, 2023
ESPN pundit Julien Laurens has given his explanation as to why Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn publicly questioned Napoli's asking price for Victor Osimhen.
Kahn recently gave an interview to German newspaper Bild, saying that 150 million euros to sign Osimhen is a big risk.
But when the retired Germany international was quizzed about two other strikers linked with Bayern Munich, Harry Kane and Kolo Muani, he stressed that they are under contract with Tottenham Hotspur and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively, and refused to comment.
Osimhen is one of the hottest center forwards in the world at the moment with Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Chelsea and
Paris Saint-Germain linked with a summer move for the Nigeria international.
In recent weeks, there has been speculation in the media that the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup winner is valued at 150 million euros
Laurens believes that Kahn made those comments about Osimhen and refused to talk about Bayern's other transfer targets for the striking position because the Nigerian is unlikely to join the Bavarians.
"They are going to go for Kane and Kolo Muani. You don't care about Naples, you can say anything you want because you're not going to deal with them in the summer over Osimhen," Laurens said on ESPN's The Gab & Juls Show.
"However, Kane and Kolo Muani are your targets so don't upset anybody. Don't talk about them."
Osimhen has approximately two years left on his contract with Napoli whom he joined from Lille in 2020 in exchange for 70 million euros.
