Who will advance from group I in the qualification for the European Championship 2024: preview
Published: April 07, 2023The confrontation of group "I" in the qualification for the European Championship 2024 began in March 2023, and will end a year later. In this sextet, the following national teams compete for two tickets to the final stage of the competition: Switzerland, Romania, Israel, Kosovo, Andorra and Belarus. After the starting battles, it is more likely to predict who has the best chances for the first two lines.
Switzerland
The Red Crusaders played extremely powerfully in the opening two matches of the tournament. First, the Swiss played in Serbia with Belarus and did not leave a stone unturned from the opponent, winning with a score of 5:0. Then the guys of Murat Yakin accepted Israel at home and got another easy victory. Ruben Vargas, Zeki Amduni and Sylvan Widmer scored accurate strikes in the battle with the Israelis. As a result, the Nati finished the spring segment on the first line, ahead of Romania in additional indicators.
The “A-team” has a fairly easy group, and if the “Red Crusaders” suddenly fail to win this sextet, then the second place is almost guaranteed for the team. At least based on the composition and game form of "nati".
Romania
"Karpatsky guys" had a great start in the tournament and after two rounds they lost the first place to the doormen only in additional indicators. After the away "dry" victory over Andorra, the guys of Edward Yordenescu were stronger than Belarus at home with a score of 2:1. Already by the 19th minute Nicolae Stanciu and Andrei Burke scored for the Chicks. Towards the end of the match, the "tricolors" conceded from Vladislav Morozov, but managed to keep the advantage.
The "Yellows" started the qualifiers great, and if the Romanians continue to score points regularly, then there will be no problems with reaching the European Championship 2024. Although the "Carpathian guys" still have a lot of difficult matches ahead.
Israel
The Blue-and-Whites had an uncertain March segment and after two rounds they settled on the penultimate place in the sextet. After a home draw with Kosovo, the Israelis went to Geneva, where they lost to Switzerland with absolutely no chance - 0:3. Having scored only one test point, the guys of Alon Hazan complicated their standings in the tournament.
Despite the unsuccessful start of the qualification, the Blue-Whites still have enough time to rectify the situation. Although keeping up with Switzerland and Romania "team" will not be easy.
Kosovo
"Golden Boys" in the first round were able to score one credit in the away battle with Israel. Eli Das' own goal helped in this, after which the Israelis bounced back, but the Blue-Whites were not enough for more. Then the team of Alain Giresse hosted Andorra at home and somewhat unexpectedly drew - 1:1. Edon Zhegrova put the Kosovars ahead in the second half, but two minutes later Berto Rosas restored parity and set the final numbers on the scoreboard.
The Blue-White-Golds have a good squad, but the national team does not differ in stability in terms of play. So it will be quite difficult for Amir Rrahmani and his partners to compete for getting into the top two.
Andorra
"Postmen" were a little surprised at the start of the current competition. After a home defeat from Romania with a score of 0:2, Koldo's wards went to Pristina, where they were able to paint a world match with Kosovo. Having conceded first, the "tricolors" did not break and were able to recoup.
In the future, Andorra will again try to surprise and take away points from some other rivals, but the “postmen” are unlikely to be able to rise above the fifth place. So, it is not worth counting on the fact that the “tricolors” will impose a fight on more formidable opponents.
Belarus
"White Wings" got off to a nasty start in the preliminaries and were declassed by Switzerland in the very first round - 0:5. Then the guys of Georgy Kondratiev went to Bucharest, where they lost minimally in a bitter struggle. Having conceded two quick goals, Belarus closed the gap in the end, but the team did not have enough for more. Although Evgeny Yablonsky and partners made more shots on target.
Belarus has an extremely weak team and you should not expect accomplishments from this team. The maximum task for the "white wings" will not finish at the bottom of the table.
Our forecast
Belarus, Andorra and Kosovo, with a high probability, will not be able to join the fight for a ticket to the final part of the tournament. Israel will try to improve and compete for second place, but it will be extremely difficult to make it blue-white. So, most likely, the first two places will be occupied by Romania and Switzerland. In this case, the "red crusaders" will bypass the "yellow". If you want to place a bet on this tournament and increase your funds, then we recommend doing it on a Pin Up bet.
