Manchester City have big plans for England U16 international of Nigerian descent
Published: March 07, 2023
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that reigning English Premier League champions Manchester City have big plans regarding the future of talented England U16 international of Nigerian descent Femi Fapetu.
The Citizens saw off competition from Manchester United and Liverpool to snap up the versatile midfielder in August 2021.
Fapetu has already made his U18 Premier League debut while still a schoolboy, playing the last minute of their 3-0 rout of Leeds United back in January.
He has been identified as one of the exciting talents at the Manchester City academy and the Etihad outfit are keen to secure his long-term future by offering him two new deals.
Fapetu is expected to put pen to paper on a scholarship deal when he turns sixteen and a pre-contract agreement that would see him turn professional on his seventeenth birthday.
The former Arsenal schoolboy is a midfielder capable of performing multiple roles in the center of the pitch.
Femi is the younger brother of Bayo Fapetu who also used to play for Arsenal youth team before transferring to Derby County.
The younger Fapetu was on international duty with the Young Lions last month in Cyprus, where he featured in the UEFA Development Tournament.
