'They will kill him for it' - Mourinho warns Osimhen to change his attitude if he goes to England
Published: January 30, 2023Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen would need to change his penchant for simulation at games especially if he heads to the Premier League according to AS Roma manager, Jose Mourinho.
Osimhen was in imperious form on Sunday night for Serie A leaders, Napoli as they beat capital city side AS Roma 2-1 at the Diego Maradona stadium.
Osimhen scored a a contender for the goal of the season in the Serie A in the 17th minute when he controlled the ball superbly and rifled home.
The strike was his 14th league goal of the season.
Mourinho in his post match press conference spoke to AS Roma's official website on his thoughts about the game.
"Mancini played basically as a right-back and did a good job of frustrating Kvaratshkhelia, just as Ibanez and Smalling did with Osimhen," Mourinho said to AS Roma's official webpage .
"Because Osimhen is really hard to mark. He’s a top player, but if he goes to England one day he will need to change his attitude a bit – because they will kill him for it over there.
"Here in Italy it’s less of an issue," the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur boss warned the Nigerian.
Osimhen however had his wrist bandaged when England international, Chris Smalling had his studs on the hands of the former Lille and Wolfsburg hitman.
Napoli are in the hunt for their first Scudetto title, 33 years after late Diego Maradona inspired the team to glory.
