Chelsea linked with move for 2022 World Cup star of African descent

Premier League giants Chelsea are being linked with a January move for 2022 World Cup star of African descent Memphis Depay, according to reports.
The Netherlands international will enter the final six months of his contract with Barcelona next month.
According to Spanish sports daily Sport, via The Sun, Chelsea could look to sign Depay from Barcelona in January.
One of the positions Chelsea need to reinforce in the winter transfer market is center forward due to the injury suffered by Armando Broja which could see him miss the remainder of the 2022-2023 season.
Broja's injury has left manager Graham Potter with only one recognized center forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Barcelona would not be opposed to the sale of Depay before his contract expires next summer in order to make a profit as he was signed on a free transfer from Lyon in 2021.
He has struggled for game time at Barcelona in the current season, making two starts from a possible 20 in all competitions, while logging a paltry 131 minutes.
