Published: December 09, 2022
Football's governing body Fifa today, Friday, released the year-end rankings for Women's National Teams.
The Super Falcons remain the best ranked team in Africa and are number 45 when it comes to the global rankings, with 1537.65 points accumulated.
Prior to today's release, Nigeria have been inactive since the last FIFA rankings was published on October 13, 2022.
South Africa occupy second place in Africa, with Cameroon, Ghana and Ivory Coast completing the top five teams, followed by Equatorial Guinea, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Zambia.
Including friendlies, Nigeria have lost their last five matches as they were beaten by Morocco and Zambia at the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, before losses to United States (2) and Japan.
187 FIFA member associations featured in the December 2022 Ranking, out of 211 in all, the highest number ever recorded at the end of a calendar year.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking will be published on 24 March 2023.
