Ex-England star predicts Uzoho will join new club after putting himself in shop window v Man Utd
Published: October 14, 2022Retired England international Owen Hargreaves expects Francis Uzoho to join a new club after putting himself in the shop window during Thursday night's UEFA Europa League clash between Manchester United and Omonia Nicosia at Old Trafford.
It is known that Omonia Nicosia want to sell the Super Eagles goalkeeper before the end of his contract in June 2024 and the match against one of the top teams in the world was a perfect opportunity for him to put his wares on display.
Uzoho is not surplus to requirements at Omonia but one of the reasons the Cypriot club signed him is because they plan to sell him in the future at a profit.
The former Deportivo de La Coruña glovesman arrived at Omonia last summer on a free transfer.
Uzoho's terrific display against Manchester United has got the whole of Europe talking and Hargreaves is sure that a transfer is on the cards.
Speaking on BT Sport, via Daily Mail, Hargreaves said : "That's what it feels like when you have the game of your life. Even when they've lost he's smiling. He was amazing. To think he's their second keeper blows you away.
"He'll nick a move off the back of that performance, I guarantee you. This game will change his career, arguably his life. I think that's what sport is all about, moments like that.'"
Uzoho has also worn the colors of Spanish club Elche plus Cypriot teams APOEL Nicosia and Anorthosis Famagusta.
