Former Arsenal youth teamer Adeboyejo scores first career hat-trick
Published: October 02, 2022It has taken former Arsenal youth teamer Victor Adeboyejo one hundred and sixty seven games as a professional to score his first-ever hat-trick.
The Nigerian-born center forward was the standout performer as Burton Albion defeated Forest Green Rovers 3-2 in a League One clash at the Pirelli Stadium (Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire) on Saturday afternoon.
Six minutes into the game, Adeboyejo broke the deadlock when he headed home after Thomas Haymer whipped a cross in.
Reece Brown equalised early in the second half and Connor Wickham converted a penalty to make it 2-1 at minute 69.
Adeboyejo finished from close range to bring the game back to parity in the 82nd minute and he wasn't done yet as he grabbed the game-winning goal two minutes into stoppage time with a curled effort from twenty yards out.
The 24-year-old joined Burton Albion in July 2022 following Barnsley's relegation from the Championship, and has now tallied six goals in all competitions for the Brewers.
He started his professional career with Leyton Orient after spells with the youth teams of Arsenal, Charlton Athletic and AFC Wimbledon.
